AXIOM - My Internship Collection

My journey with Axiom began before it ever became an internship. Over the past few years, I went from getting to know the people to working alongside the team across a series of projects.

We explored ideas big and small, exchanged countless thoughts about design and the profession, and learned from one another. More importantly, I met some truly wonderful people. This page collects a few highlights from that journey.

01 Building an AI Learning Experience.AI

2026.08 · AI Learning Instructor

We introduced AI by exploring it together with the students — from basic concepts and open-source models to running local models with Ollama. Along the way, we built a chatbot dashboard where they could switch between models, experiment with prompts, and connect robot expressions and system health to different AI states, making what happens behind the interface more visible and tangible.

Built and explored with students using GPT, Codex, and Ollama.

We also extended the experience to a companion app, where students could personalize their robots through expressions and explore how different states could give each one its own character.

One afternoon, we visited UBTECH to see what AI looks like beyond the screen, meeting humanoid, educational, companion, service, and logistics robots built for very different roles in the physical world.

02 More recently, I’ve been working on Project Lex.AI

2026.08-present · Product & UX/UI Designer

Project LEX is an ongoing redesign of a legal practice management system for a law firm in Hong Kong. Together, we’re exploring how operational and financial data from lawyers’ everyday workflows can support prediction, resource planning, and better-informed decisions.

03 One small idea became OTA.

2023-present · Product & UX/UI Designer

Meet Oli, our team’s beloved orange cat, created by Diana in 2022. After a little seed landed on its head, a tiny sprout began to grow — and that’s where Oli’s story began.

One afternoon after a meeting, we started imagining Oli in different works of art...

That little idea eventually grew into OTA, where Oli travels through the worlds of different artists and becomes a companion for young learners exploring art history through collecting, play, and storytelling.

04 Sometimes, We Just Make Things.

Not everything had to become a full project. We revisited classics like Memory Game to learn how designers and programmers work together, explored new visual directions for Axiom, and quickly prototyped small ideas just for fun. Along the way, there were also menus, events, and plenty of little experiments that gave us a reason to make, learn, and try something new.

05 A Few Thoughts Along the Way

Education has gradually become an important part of how I understand design — not because I only want to design for education, but because I believe everything we design teaches us something about the world.

Our sense of what feels intuitive, delightful, or even possible is built over time through the things we interact with: a childhood toy, a phone we use every day, a store we walk into, or a theme park we remember years later. These experiences quietly shape our sensitivity to the world around us — and, eventually, the way we create.

That also means that, as designers, what we put into the world can become part of how the next generation understands it.

During my time with Axiom, I began finding small opportunities to pass along some of what I had learned and experienced as a design student to a younger audience. Seeing those ideas take shape through real products and experiences became one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

One day, I hope to create experiences that inspire others in the same way great design has inspired me.
